The Casa de la Naturaleza de Pesaguero is housed in a restored 17th-century manor house and features an exhibition on the natural elements of the Liébana comarca. Its guides provide information about the natural and cultural values of the surrounding area, public access, and guided and self-guided routes.

The Casa de la Naturaleza de Pesaguero is located within the Liébana Natura 2000 site and the brown bear recovery area.

For Pesaguero, travel dates, room category, and cancellation policies for a holiday apartment can be considered side by side as objective points of comparison. The accommodation decision remains separate from the destination's different themes: nature, paths, pilgrimage tradition, and architecture each set their own tone.

Nature and Landscape

The Las Colladillas route crosses Mediterranean and Atlantic woodland landscapes, including habitats with holm oaks, Pyrenean oaks, and beech trees. Along its course are the remains of old fortifications and traces of ancient, almost forgotten dehesas; it also follows a network of footpaths and old roads. La Parte is characterised by dense woodland.

The landscape cannot be reduced to a single type of nature: in Pesaguero, the woodland landscapes mentioned at Las Colladillas meet the distinct, densely wooded character of La Parte. As a result, different landscape impressions coexist within the municipality.

Paths and Pilgrimage Tradition

The section of the Camino Lebaniego near Pesaguero is regularly used by pilgrims, hikers, and cyclists. The stage from Pesaguero to Santo Toribio de Liébana is listed as 23.4 km long, with a duration of six hours. A section of the Camino Lebaniego passes through the locality, continues to Avellanedo, and then heads west to the hamlet of La Parte in Pesaguero. Different route distances and forms of use can be compared for personal planning according to timeframe and activity. Thus, this route combines a specifically quantified stage with a spatially described section involving several named user groups.

Culture and Places

The surviving structure of the Ermita de la Inmaculada Concepción may have been built in the final years of the 13th century or even in the 14th century. Its rectangular apse chapel has an eight-part rib vault with a central keystone bearing a Florentine-style cross relief. A rectangular single-nave building with a wooden ceiling is 9.80 m long and 6 m wide. The dating, the vault, the cross relief, and the precise dimensions each emphasise different aspects of its appreciation: history, ornament, and space.

El Abuelo can be visited in La Parte. El Abuelo is located at a place called El Cuénere, a little way from the houses of the village of La Parte. The site therefore refers to a specific point within the hamlet and complements the descriptions of paths and landscapes with a single visitable destination.
