Discover La Revilla in Oyambre Natural Park
La Revilla is located in Oyambre Natural Park. Viewpoints, hiking trails, birdwatching areas and a visitor centre give this natural area several distinct ways to experience it.
Culture and History
The Ermita de Santa Marina in La Revilla is a simple rectangular building divided into two equally sized sections and reinforced on the outside by stepped buttresses. The hermitage was restored between 2022 and 2024. The Parroquia de San Pedro Apóstol has a traditional bell gable, rubble masonry walls and a small atrium. La Revilla celebrates the recurring Fiestas de San Pedro as a local festival.
This means that different forms of architectural heritage stand side by side in one place: the hermitage is defined by its rectangular layout and stepped buttresses, while the parish church is characterised by its bell gable, rubble masonry and atrium. The restoration of the hermitage between 2022 and 2024 is part of its more recent history; the Fiestas de San Pedro add a recurring local occasion to the buildings.
Nature and Trails
The PRL-49 Ruta de La Revilla route is approximately 5,175 metres long and is classified as easy. It runs through Valdáliga and San Vicente. The Oyambre coastal trail begins by following the road from La Revilla over the crest of a small ridge.
For travel planning, you can consider nature observation, hikes and the coastal trail as separate focuses alongside one another. The information on the length, difficulty rating and route provides different points of comparison. The PRL-49 combines an approximate route length with an easy rating and a route through Valdáliga and San Vicente. In contrast, the coastal trail focuses on its beginning along the road from La Revilla and over the crest of a small ridge.
Golf is a separate type of activity, while buildings, the local festival, museums and historical sites offer a cultural perspective. The beaches provide another focus. You can consider the location details for the destinations mentioned separately and incorporate them into your daily planning. The order that results is left to your personal planning.
Golf
The Santa Marina golf course in La Revilla is located in Oyambre Natural Park, was designed by Seve Ballesteros and has 18 holes. For this destination, the focus is therefore on both its location in the natural park and its design by the named designer, as well as the number of holes.

The Sobrellano Palace Museum is located in the surroundings of La Revilla. The historical site El Capricho de Gaudí is also located in the surroundings of La Revilla. Playa De Fuentes beach, Playa de Comillas beach, the Fuente Tres Caños monument and the Fundación Archivo de Indianos-Museo de la Emigración museum are located in the surroundings of La Revilla.
The destinations mentioned are therefore described using different spatial indications: Playa de Merón and Playa de la Rabia are assigned to the immediate vicinity, while the other listed museums, the historical site, beaches and the monument are located in the surroundings of La Revilla. This distinction remains when organising the places yourself.
