Igollo – Cave Culture, Sacred Architecture and Nature

Igollo in the municipality of Camargo draws attention to the Cueva de El Juyo, which is protected as an Asset of Cultural Interest. Culture and History

The Casona de Benito de la Torre Herrera in Igollo is estimated to have been built at the request of Tomás de Herrera in the late 17th century. The portal of the Casa de los Puente Herrera in Igollo dates from the second half of the 17th century.

In the immediate vicinity of Igollo is the Museo Etnográfico de Cantabria Casa Velarde, a museum. Also nearby is the Termas Romanas y Necrópolis medieval de San Juan de Maliaño, an ancient site.
