Pasito Blanco combines a sports harbour with a varied coastline and a strong fishing tradition. The Pasito Blanco Summer Campus includes sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, banana boat rides, beach games and activities in the sea. This brings together different maritime forms: excursions on the water, activities on the beach and boat-based offerings each have their own focus.
The maritime offerings focus on different aspects: at the Summer Campus, several activities take place side by side; in the harbour, there are different types of boats; and the deep-sea fishing excursions feature specifically named target fish. The coastal area can also be divided into different facets: the beach, the sandy area and the diving site each provide their own points of reference. This creates an interplay between more active and calmer themes.
Water Sports
At Puerto Deportivo Pasito Blanco, boats that do not require a licence, larger boats requiring the appropriate licence, and private excursions with a skipper and crew are available. These types of boats differ in terms of the qualifications required and the assistance provided on board. Deep-sea fishing excursions depart from Pasito Blanco and target tuna, swordfish and blue marlin. The maritime spectrum therefore ranges from different types of boats to trips featuring clearly named target fish. Puerto Deportivo Pasito Blanco is open year-round.
Beach and Diving Site
Playa de Pasito Blanco (El Hornillo) stretches for 450 metres and consists of fine sand, pebbles and rocks. Its bathing waters are calm. The length, materials and water conditions describe the coastline from different perspectives and make it possible to classify it as a distinct day-trip theme. In a sandy area one mile south of the harbour lies Baja de Pasito Blanco, which is highly valued by divers. The beach and diving site thus represent two geographically and thematically separate coastal points of reference.
Summer Campus
The Pasito Blanco Summer Campus is aimed at children aged 7 to 15. The campus takes place at Puerto Deportivo Pasito Blanco in San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The venue and age range are therefore independent key details of the programme, while the water- and beach-based activities mentioned describe its range of content.
Dining at the Harbour
La Punta Yacht Club combines a restaurant and a beach club at Puerto Deportivo Pasito Blanco. The La Punta Yacht Club restaurant serves, among other things, traditional papas arrugadas, rice dishes, meat and fish. The two components of the yacht club represent different areas of the same location: the beach club complements the restaurant within the harbour setting, without both offerings necessarily having the same food profile.
Fishing Tradition
At the VI Open Internacional de Pesca de Altura Gran Canaria, particular emphasis is placed on the catch-and-release method. Since it began, Pasito Blanco’s traditional deep-sea fishing competition has been held 37 times. Alongside the current deep-sea fishing excursions, the competition thus points to a maritime tradition that has existed in the area for a longer period.
