Culture and History

The Cueva Refugio en Mesa del Hornillo is located in Aldea Blanca. It is classified as an ethnographic complex of the cave refuge type. According to tradition, it was historically inhabited by shepherds from Fataga who practised transhumance. Another trace of the area’s history is the Nuestra Señora de Fátima parish church: after its doors, windows and interior gallery were renovated, it was reopened. The del Aparcero Festival is one of the traditional festivals in Aldea Blanca.

Water and Seasonal Leisure

For July and August 2026, it was planned that the municipal swimming pool in Aldea Blanca would offer public swimming from Monday to Friday, from 11:00 to 18:00. The weekdays and times provide a clear schedule for summer planning.

Surrounding Area

The area surrounding Aldea Blanca includes the Centro de Interpretación de las Salinas Tenefé museum, Cocodrilo Park zoo and the Centro de Interpretación de La Fortaleza museum. The beaches of Playa de La Caleta, Playa de las Casillas, Playa Pozo Izquierdo and Playa de los Tártagos, as well as the Las Tederas viewpoint, are also nearby. Museums, the zoo, the coast and the viewpoint can be weighed up alongside one another as different themes for planning days out and excursions.

Leisure and Exercise

The leisure and sports area in Aldea Blanca was intended to include a 530 m² multipurpose court with stands for handball, basketball and futsal. It was also intended to provide a picnic area of just under 200 m² with 5 tables and 10 prefabricated benches, with space for around 50 people. In addition, it was intended to include a 110 m² health-oriented exercise area with equipment for stretching exercises and exercises for the abdomen, back, lower back, arms and other muscles for adults. The area specifications provide an objective classification of the different sections of the complex.

Local Flavours

At the Cueva del Paso cheese dairy, cheese is made from raw Majorera goat’s milk. The cheese offered there can be sampled on site and is also sold there. Production, tasting and sales are directly connected at this location.

Route

The Circular Aldea Blanca–El Sitio de Abajo–La Sorrueda–Aldea Blanca route begins and ends in Aldea Blanca at the corner of Atacayte and Valsendero streets. The identical location indicated at the beginning and end makes the route clearly recognisable as a circular route.
