The historic center of Larrabetzu lies along the coastal route of the Way of St. James. It is a frequent stop for pilgrims.

Culture and history

The present-day church in Larrabetzu is dedicated to Saints Emeterius and Celedonius. It was built around 1500 in the Late Gothic style.

The parish church of the Assumption of Mary has medieval origins. It was rebuilt between 1777 and 1784. The building acquired a strongly neoclassical character.

A coat of arms is located above the entrance to Oloste Palace. It is in the Rococo style and dates from the 18th century. On the façade, it is crowned and flanked by a total of five reliefs featuring busts.

It follows the Zugaztierrekea River. The ascent is steady and gentle. It leads into the Ugalde Valley.
