Binibèquer combines a distinctive townscape with varied coastal landscapes. Binibèquer Vell stands out in particular because of its unusual history: the village was created in 1972 as a tourist complex designed to recreate a Mediterranean fishing village. Its architecture was inspired by the buildings and lanes of the Greek Mediterranean islands. Culture and townscape
As you walk through Binibèquer Vell, you encounter a deliberately designed, winding ensemble. In Binibèquer Vell, you can stroll through a maze of white lanes. The complex also includes a small open chapel with a bell tower. Masses are held there on special occasions.
Paths and water
A specific coastal connection is provided by the Binissafúller–Punta Prima stage of the Camí de Cavalls. It is 8.06 kilometres long, flat and not very demanding, and follows a coastal path. On this section, the Camí de Cavalls runs alongside Caló Fondo, also known as ses Olles. This is a low, semicircular rocky area that is particularly suitable for diving. Coast and coves
Cala Binibeca Vell is a small, rocky cove between Cala Binissafúller and Caló Fondo, next to the Binibeca Vell development. Its low, rugged cliffs have little vegetation. The water is deep and lies above a rocky, sandy seabed covered with Posidonia; the cove is suitable for snorkelling. This coastal section therefore differs clearly from Playa Binibeca Nou, which is 400 metres long and has fine white sand and shallow, crystal-clear water.
Playa Binibeca Nou also has its own structure beneath the water's surface: it is suitable for snorkelling over a sandy seabed with areas of Posidonia. Parking is available in the Binibeca Vell development for routes to Cala Binibeca Vell; small footpaths lead to the cove's beach. Playa Binibeca Nou can be reached by public transport in summer. Thus, this coastal section combines different landscapes and types of water with various forms of accessibility.
