Coast and sea
Next to the Punta Prima development, between the headland of the same name and Punta des Marbres, lies Playa Punta Prima, a sandy beach approximately 200 m long and around 75 m wide. From there, you can enjoy views of the beautiful islet of S’Illot des Cagaire and the large island of Illa de l’Aire with its lighthouse of the same name.

Playa Punta Prima has white sand, transparent water and seabeds made up of sand, rock and Posidonia. At Playa Punta Prima, you can enjoy water sports such as stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking, as well as explore this stretch of coastline. Different landscape elements thus come together on the same beach: the light-coloured sand, clear water and varied seabeds shape the appearance of Playa Punta Prima.
Nature
Illa de l’Aire is a small islet of around 45 hectares at the southeastern tip of Menorca, approximately 1,500 m off the coast. The marine reserve covers around 719 hectares, of which 454 hectares are designated as a special diving area. Up to 634 different marine species and 31 benthic communities have been recorded in the sea around Illa de l’Aire.
The marine area around Illa de l’Aire features seagrass meadows of Posidonia oceanica, rocky seabeds and numerous underwater caves and crevices, making it particularly attractive to divers. The Camí de Cavalls also passes Caló Fondo, which is also called Ses Olles. This low-lying, semicircular rocky area is especially suitable for diving because of its rich seabed. The combination of seagrass meadows, rock formations, caves and crevices illustrates the special diversity of these underwater areas.
Coastal path and stages
The Binissafúller–Punta Prima stage is flat and has a low level of difficulty. The Camí de Cavalls stage between Binissafúller and Punta Prima follows a coastal path connecting Binibèquer, Biniancolla and Son Ganxo.
History
Torre de Son Ganxo stands opposite Illa de l’Aire and was built between 1785 and 1787. Torre de Son Ganxo was restored in 2011 and is considered one of Menorca’s best-preserved defensive towers.
Getting there
Punta Prima is included in the regular Maó–Sant Lluís–Punta Prima bus service. For the Sant Lluís–Punta Prima direction, a corresponding service is listed from Monday to Saturday.
