Discover Anleo: Palace, Church and Nature
Anleo is home to the Palacio de Anleo. The village also features a circular route, a pine forest, outdoor swimming pools and a traditional market with its own distinct highlights.
When comparing holiday apartments in Anleo, check the travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions on the respective listing pages. In Anleo, these details can be considered alongside the area’s different features: architecture and religious art stand alongside the circular route, pine forest, outdoor swimming pools and market tradition, without the choice of accommodation replacing the individual themes of the village.
For further research, you can also visit Puerto De Vega, Villapedre, Tox and Navia.
Culture and Architecture
The Palacio de Anleo is classified as a historic-artistic monument and is an 18th-century building with three towers. Its two wings extend in east-west and north-south directions. On the west side stands the tower probably built in the 13th century, known as the “Torre Vieja”. It still features a loophole and openings covered by lintels. This building therefore brings together the expansive layout and the preserved details of the older tower in direct juxtaposition.
The Iglesia San Miguel de Anleo has a rectangular floor plan with three naves, a flat-ended chancel and a square tower. Inside is a 19th-century ivory Christ of Philippine origin. The church can thus be understood through its clear geometry, while the individual artwork contributes its own temporal and geographical context.
You can arrange the cultural points of interest according to your interests: the palace’s external structure is followed in the church by a single piece of religious art with a clearly stated temporal and geographical origin.
Nature and Leisure
The Ruta de La Pistola circular route begins in the village of Anleo and returns to Anleo. The starting and ending point is therefore in the same village, while the route is described as a circular trail in its own right. This clearly distinguishes it from a path with a separate endpoint.
The Santa Lucía recreational area is a pine forest located on a slope and facing southeast. It also has a level area suitable for various games. The circular route, woodland setting and play area represent different forms of activity. The landscape orientation and level play area are different features of the same recreational area.
The outdoor swimming pools in Anleo consist of a large and a small pool, as well as extensive green areas; they are open in summer. The pools therefore complement the nature and leisure offerings with two differently sized bodies of water and a spacious outdoor area.
Mercado Tradicional de Anleo
At the Mercado Tradicional de Anleo 2025, craftspeople gave demonstrations and typical products were available for tasting. In 2025, the event was the fourth edition of this traditional market. The craft demonstrations and tastings represent two different focuses within the same market event. Together with its ongoing editions, the market points both to practical demonstrations and to the tasting of typical products.
