The Senda Verde del Foyoso (PR242) begins in Felechosa. It is an easy walking trail. The route there and back connects Felechosa and El Pino and takes approximately one and a half hours. It crosses the Braña River and passes through extensive meadows and the dense deciduous forest known as El Foyoso. The destination is the Molín de Peón, a building constructed at the end of the 19th century. It was initially used as a mill and fulling mill, was later converted into a small hydroelectric power station, and now houses a trout breeding and rearing centre operated by the Asociación de Pescadores “El Maravayu”.
Nature
The Ruta Las Brañas is a 13.3 km linear mountain hike rated difficult. It begins in Felechosa next to the Ermita de la Virgen de la Antigua. Known as the Ruta Las Brañas (PR-AS 30), it connects Felechosa and Cueves and passes through former seasonal grazing settlements with small huts and cattle sheds.
The Ruta Foces de El Pino is 6.5 km long. Due to the wet stone surface, it is not suitable for bicycles. The vertical limestone walls of the Foces de El Pino display fossils of algae and marine animals that are more than 300 million years old.
Culture
During El Carmín in Felechosa, a procession travels from Barro Baxo to the Ermita de la Virgen de la Antigua, followed by a solemn mass and the puya del ramu.
The traditional musical dance “baile a lo suelto” is associated with Felechosa. People from Aller born in Felechosa are known as “los de la viga travesá”; the story goes that, while building the temple, the neighbours tried to bring a beam through a window.
Los Castiel.los de Felechosa are listed in the Asturian Cultural Heritage Inventory.
Activities
The Felechosa variant of the Anillo Ciclista de la Montaña Central runs from Cotobello via El Toral, La Collaona, Conforcos, Llamas, Col.lanzo, Yanos and Pola del Pino to Felechosa. It uses wide mining tracks, traditional paths and paved sections before reaching Felechosa.
A trail-running event was held in Felechosa with two courses: a long trail of approximately 33 km with 6,600 m of ascent and a speed trail of over 15 km with 1,900 m of ascent. The different course lengths and ascent figures provide clear reference points for personal day planning.
The Escuela de escalada de Cuevas offers sport climbing in five sectors. Access follows the AS-112 past Felechosa and then continues for 3 km to the Puente de la Muñeca.
