The Allande Stars programme 2025 held an activity in Sienra, in Cereceda, Allande. Allande Stars includes an annual programme of astronomical activities to promote astrotourism in Allande. The founder of Allande Stars, who comes from Cereceda, has been conducting science outreach activities for people from the region and from elsewhere since 2019.
When choosing a holiday apartment in Cereceda, it is worth looking at the respective listing page: there, you can compare the travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions with your own travel plans before making a decision. You can also compare different lengths of stay directly using these fields.
Night Sky
In the wider area around Cereceda, Allande’s Ruta de las Estrellas offers a 6-kilometre section of the Camino Primitivo with guided astronomical experiences featuring telescopes and scientific explanations. Anyone wishing to combine astronomy with a section of a trail can read the information about the programme, location and route separately and incorporate the preferred type of activity into their own plans.
Trails
The Ruta del Molín de Valbona runs through Cereceda between Valbona and Villagrufe. It is listed as a 5.46-kilometre crossing with a duration of 1 hour and 45 minutes. On the map of the Ruta del Molín de Valbona, Cereceda appears as “Zreiceda”. The distance and duration provide concrete planning details; you can consider the two values side by side when planning your day.
Culture
Cereceda is home to the chapel dedicated to Saint Salvador. In 1929, two sons of the village reconstructed and decorated it. Next to the chapel stands the Tejo de Cereceda, a yew tree with partially exposed roots and rich colouring. The restored Camín de la Fragua formed part of the final section of the old royal road that led through Cereceda to Pola de Allande.
The Castro de San Chuis is one of the most extensively excavated fortified settlements in Asturias and is designated an Asset of Cultural Interest of the Principality of Asturias. It can be reached via a track suitable for cars; admission is free. Gold mining on the Río Fresnedo is associated with Allande, Fresnedo and Cereceda.
The topics can be given different weighting when you organise your plans around trails, astronomy and culture: the religious building, natural feature, historic transport link, archaeological settlement and mining history each offer their own perspective on Cereceda.
When putting together different days, the information can be considered separately: the astronomical activities represent a guided experience, while the designated crossing represents a route with a stated distance and duration; cultural sites and historic traces complement these two approaches.
