Culture
Villanueva del Rebollar de la Sierra has, in the Casa consistorial, a three-storey building with a loggia consisting of two round-arched stone vaults resting on an octagonal column. On the second floor of the Casa consistorial is a coat of arms dated 1766 and dedicated to Archbishop Basilio Sancho.
The Iglesia de San Cristóbal is a 17th-century Baroque parish church in Villanueva del Rebollar de la Sierra. The Baroque altarpieces of Santa Justa and Santa Rufina and of San Cristóbal in the Iglesia de San Cristóbal have been restored. La Casa de la Morera has a portal with angel decoration.
A stately Casona solariega has an interesting Renaissance-style grille crowned by a cross. The Fiesta de los Herreros honours the traditional craft of blacksmithing with demonstrations of forging and festive gatherings. For planning purposes, architecture, sacred art and blacksmithing can be considered as distinct cultural highlights.
Trails and Landscape
The PR-TE 101 hiking trail begins in Villanueva del Rebollar de la Sierra and leads to the Ermita de la Purísima. The recorrido escultórico de forja is an approximately two-kilometre-long trail through orchards that passes by a chapel.
The Montalban Circular Route passes through Villanueva del Rebollar de la Sierra and is a signposted, paved circular route covering 80.3 kilometres, completed in two stages. When planning, you can distinguish between different route lengths, trail types and activity types. This allows hiking and cycling to be considered as separate highlights, without turning the individual trails into a fixed programme.
The local trails connect different forms of travel and ways of experiencing the surroundings: the PR-TE 101 is linked to a specific destination, the recorrido escultórico de forja runs through orchards, and the Montalban Circular Route is laid out as a longer, signposted paved route. This makes it possible to clearly distinguish culture-related trail sections from a circular route divided into two stages.
In the wider regional surroundings of Villanueva del Rebollar de la Sierra is the church Ermita de Santa Ana (Rubielos de la Cérida). The church Ermita de Santa Bárbara is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Villanueva del Rebollar de la Sierra. The Loma Pedriza hill is likewise situated in the wider regional surroundings of Villanueva del Rebollar de la Sierra.
