Alba del Campo looks out towards El Castillejo. The structure is protected as an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), classified as a monument in the military category and of the castle type.

The parish church of the Invention of the Holy Cross was built around 1704 and combines Baroque architecture with influences from the Mudéjar style of Teruel. The parish church’s organ is included in Aragon’s decree declaring 59 historic organs Assets of Cultural Interest (BIC).

The historic organ is an Iberian Baroque pipe organ by Silvestre Thomás, dating from 1761 and located in Zaragoza. It preserves 70–80% of its original metal pipes and has two manuals. This makes it one of the town’s particularly detailed cultural testimonies.

The Ermita de la Purísima de Alba dates from the second half of the 18th century and contains two Rococo altarpieces. The Ermita de Santa Bárbara is classified as a historical-artistic heritage site.

Los Mayos is a tradition in its own right. Los Mayos is celebrated on 30 April; young men sing various verses for young women. The tradition includes visiting the young women who will marry that year. Los Mayos celebrates the arrival of spring.

Trails and Landscapes

From the site of the Castillo de Alba, there are sweeping views over the agricultural surroundings and the historic routes that crossed the area.

The Torrelacárcel–Alba route includes a municipal washhouse that bears witness to the rural ways of life of times past. The route also passes Las Balsas de Alba; the bodies of water create a peaceful landscape that invites contemplation.

A short circular trail begins at the church door of Alba del Campo and leads up to Cerro de San Cristóbal. From Cerro de San Cristóbal, the circular trail offers views of the nearby geodetic points of Punta Palomera and San Ginés.

Cultural sites, a festival date, and trails place different emphasis. When making your own plans, you can distinguish between local history, a fixed festival date, and routes focused on landscapes or viewpoints.

Getting There

One route into Alba del Campo leads via the A-23, exit 144, towards Santa Eulalia. After driving through the town, it is 5 km to the destination.
