Pozuelo de Aragón: Geyser, History and Architectural Heritage

The Pozuelo de Aragón geyser is an unusual natural site: a 325-metre-deep artesian well from which pressurised saline thermal water at 28°C emerges more than two metres high. It is listed in the catalogue of sites of geological interest in Aragon and is subject to the associated protection regime.

The construction of the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was promoted in the 16th century by the abbots of Veruela; the church is designed in the Gothic-Mudéjar style and preserves a group of Renaissance altarpieces.

The Santa Ana hermitage, located on the outskirts of the town, preserves its medieval structure inside. Its surroundings are accessible by car and feature pine trees, a table, and a spring.

El Lumbrerón is listed as an inventoried asset of Aragonese cultural heritage. In the vicinity of Pozuelo de Aragón, on the road between Borja and Rueda de Jalón, stands the circular shepherd's shelter with a false dome, approximately 5 km from Pozuelo.

A recently discovered Gothic clock is noted for its quality.
