La Cala del Moral: Beach, Caves and Festivities
La Cala del Moral Beach is an approximately 1.5-kilometre-long town beach integrated into the seafront promenade. It has an accessible access point, toilets, showers, sun lounger and parasol hire, waste bins and a cleaning service. For your own planning, the approximate length and the individual facilities can be considered separately.
Culture and Festivities
The present-day Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Rosario replaced the former parish chapel on Avenida Principal. It had become too small due to the rapid population growth. The festival of the Virgen del Rosario in La Cala del Moral takes place in October after a solemn triduum. After Mass, the Custodia is ceremonially carried through the streets of La Cala del Moral. A few days before the solemn procession, the square in front of the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Rosario is decorated with a large carpet of natural flowers.
The procession of the Virgen del Carmen in La Cala del Moral takes place every year on 16 July. The image is carried from the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Rosario to the sea and then placed on a traditional boat. At the Noche de San Juan on 23 June in La Cala del Moral, a family programme, dance performances, live music and the burning of Júas in a large beach bonfire were scheduled to continue into the night.
The Santuario de la Virgen del Carmen is located at the end of the Paseo Marítimo in the El Cantal area of La Cala del Moral. A cliff path runs by the Santuario, connecting La Cala del Moral with Rincón de la Victoria. The Santuario is a place of worship for seafarers and the local community. It offers panoramic views.
