Excavations in the Cueva del Agua revealed evidence of human use from the Eneolithic, Argaric, Roman and Arab cultures through to the present day. The Castillo de Iznalloz preserves the remains of two attached towers, two large bastions and a significant remnant of the former rammed-earth wall.
The parish church of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios was designed by Siloé. Its construction began in 1549 with the involvement of Juan de Maeda, a pupil of Siloé, and the sculptor Alonso Hernández.
