Laroya: Waterfall, Hiking Trail and Religious Tradition

Laroya combines the Charcón del Buey Waterfall, marked trails and religious traditions with a range of distinct destinations in the surrounding area. The waterfall is more than ten metres high. Hiking, mountaineering, rappelling and climbing are possible in the Charcón del Buey area. The nature experience therefore ranges from a single waterfall to various forms of active recreation.

Another sporting option is the TransAlmería BTT stage from Laroya to Macael. It starts in El Reul Alto, a district of Laroya, reaches an altitude of 1,500 metres after approximately six kilometres and is rated as moderately to highly difficult. The Cuartetas of Laroya are a long-standing religious and folk tradition. It is celebrated on Easter Sunday.
