Culture and History
A characteristic cultural feature of the town is nature-based forest management. At the initiative of the Municipality of Radlje ob Dravi, it was entered into the Register of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Slovenia.
The Radlje ob Dravi Museum is located in Dvorec Radlje. Dvorec is a modern interactive museum in the former county estate, also known as Mahrenberg Lower Castle; due to renovation work, the museum is closed to visitors until further notice. Dvorec is surrounded by an English landscape park laid out in the 19th century.
Above the town, the ruins of Mahrenberg Castle lie on Kamen Hill. They offer views and convey the history of the former castle. The Kalvarija in Radlje is an artistic monument created in 1724, featuring life-size Baroque stone sculptures. It consists of seven statues placed along the path to the hilltop, depicting the Stations of the Cross.
The Church of St. Michael in Radlje ob Dravi is first mentioned in 1251. It has a nave, a chancel ending in three sides of an octagon, a freestanding bell tower, as well as a Baroque chapel and a sacristy.
Rosenhof, also known as “Flower Court”, is located in the middle of the square and probably dates from the 16th century. The building features architectural details from the early 17th century, including wooden beam ceilings on the upper floor.
Other cultural destinations include the Remšnik Mineral Museum, the Dominican Monastery and Dom gozdne kulture. At the Remšnik Mineral Museum, minerals from the Remšnik mines can be viewed and examined with the naked eye, under a magnifying glass and under a microscope; some of them are very rare. The Dominican Monastery is an important cultural monument featuring architectural details from the early Baroque period. Dom gozdne kulture offers educational programmes for all generations, focusing on experiencing and perceiving the forest with all the senses.
Nature and Activities
The 552-hectare mixed Pahernik forests on the northern slopes of Pohorje between Vuhred and Velika Kopa are considered a popular excursion destination and an important educational site.
The Stari grad Forest and History Educational Trail is suitable for school groups, forestry professionals, hikers and families. The approximately 3-kilometre circular route passes information boards about the botanical and historical features of the area.
For cycling, the international long-distance cycling route Meridiem Trail passes through Radlje ob Dravi. It connects Vienna and Villach. The forest is also home to Aktivarium, a motor skills park that promotes physical activity and enables nature experiences for all generations.
Another educational hiking trail along the municipal boundaries is divided into 22 stages and is particularly suitable for beginners and families with children. The well-known Ciglarjeva pešpot (E6) leads from the Drava to the Adriatic.
Water and Discoveries
Vodni Park Radlje ob Dravi is a biological swimming pool. Its water quality is maintained exclusively by natural organisms, without the addition of chemicals. A beach volleyball court is located immediately next to Vodni Park Radlje ob Dravi.
The Dobrava Water Educational Trail begins at Reš Pond near Radlje ob Dravi. Along the Drava River, it combines a themed educational trail with an orienteering adventure in which five lost treasures are sought; more than 15 themed information boards stand along the route.

Getting There
Radlje ob Dravi has regular bus connections from Ljubljana, Celje, Maribor and Slovenj Gradec. It is also possible to travel by train to Vuhred and then continue by bus; the bus journey from Vuhred to Radlje ob Dravi takes approximately five minutes.
