Holiday apartment in Mozirje – flower park, trails and culture

Mozirski gaj is a flower park with flower beds and themed gardens and also includes an open-air ethnographic museum. The walking route from the TIC Mozirje to Mozirski gaj is 0.8 km long, takes about 30 minutes and is suitable for families with small children. For a longer route, there is the Path from Bell Tower to Bell Tower: an easy, 18-km-long tourist trail that takes about five hours.

Nature

In summer, Golte offers the opportunity to explore a landscape park via numerous marked trails, as well as an alpine garden. The trails and the garden are part of the summer landscape-park experience at Golte. The mountains Čreta, Boskovec, Skorno and Gora Oljka are also located in the surroundings of Mozirje. Each of these mountains is in the area around the town, without the individual destinations being combined into one shared trail or a specific route.

History and culture

The historic market centre of Mozirje includes historic market houses, as well as carved benches and portals made of greenish volcanic tuff. In the town library, the Mozirje museum collection presents local history through old photographs, documents and thematically arranged objects. In December 2025, the Museum Collection with its permanent exhibition was moved to a new location at Mozirski trg (Na Trgu 38).

Pust Mozirski, an annual carnival, is also part of the cultural calendar. The event includes musical entertainment, a gala, a children's masquerade and a carnival parade. Thus, historic market houses, museum collections and a recurring festival with different programme items exist alongside one another, without being reduced to the same time or place.

The Church of Saint Margaret is located in the wider regional surroundings of Mozirje. The Church of Saint Leonard is also located in this wider regional area. The two churches are therefore not considered part of the immediate surroundings of the town, while Čreta, Boskovec, Skorno and Gora Oljka are located in the surroundings of Mozirje.
