A total elevation gain of 822 m is specified for the Temeš–Malá Magura–Bojnice route. Another hiking route from Temeš to Bojnice via Temešská skala and Malá Magura is specified as 18 km long. This means that various route descriptions with clear key figures are available for active days.
Landscape
Temeš lies in the southern part of the Strážovská hornatina, in a deep, short, left-sided valley of the Belanka stream. Land use also shapes the area: forests account for 62% of the non-agricultural land in Temeš. The landscape can therefore be described both by its location in the mountains and by the high proportion of forested areas.
Hiking and cycling
The marked hiking trail 8403 connects Temeš and Liešťany over a distance of 11.7 km. The marked hiking trail 8403V connects Temešské sedlo and Temešská skala over a distance of 0.2 km. Cycle routes also pass through Temeš. The Bojnický cyklookruh leads from Čavoj via Temeš to Nevidzany. Thus, both marked hiking connections and a signposted cycling route form part of the local trail network, without implying that the individual routes are identical in length or course.
Nature
The Temešská skala protected area lies within the cadastral territories of Temeš and Čavoj and has the fifth level of protection. The European protected area of Temešská skala covers areas above the municipality of Čavoj. These areas are to be preserved or kept free of woody growth, particularly because of the occurrence of the rare, significant under European law, long-leaved fleabane, subspecies Tephroseris longifolia subsp. moravica. This subspecies is found at only a few known sites in Slovakia.
Culture and tradition
The Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes is part of the local architectural history. It was built in 1926 in a retarded late-neoclassical style and is a single-nave building with a rectangular ground plan and a projecting tower.
The Košarinka folklore group was founded in 1999. Its repertoire includes folk games, customs, songs and dances. Its members still perform in original traditional costumes, some of which are more than a hundred years old. Some of the women still master the techniques of sewing, embroidering and decorating traditional costumes.
The Day of Folk Traditions beneath Temešská skala brings together local residents, people born in Temeš and residents of other municipalities. It was organized annually in August by the municipality of Temeš. At one edition of the event, tasty culinary products from women from Temeš and hunters were offered throughout the day.
This allows you to compare the features of the specific offer separately from the described local and route data.
