Culture

Through its performances and activities, the folklore group FSk Taľar represents and preserves the traditional costume of Nová Ľubovňa. Pastrnoci also preserves a living archive of Goral songs and dances and performs at various cultural events in the municipality, as well as at social and family occasions in the wider area.

The musical tradition has several named custodians. The four basic melodies are associated with humorous, wedding and occasional songs, while Pastrnoci preserves songs and dances in an archive. The municipality's oldest folk music originated in the 1920s as the band of the Valigurských family. Within the built-up area of the municipality of Nová Ľubovňa, there are three chapels. The chapel of “Sedembolestnej Panny Márie” was built in 1846 and is the oldest chapel in Nová Ľubovňa. It stands at the upper edge of the village on the road to Jakubany. The church in Nová Ľubovňa was modified in 1615, 1823, 1857, 1934 and 1987.
