Lesnica combines experiences in nature with traditional culture along the Dunajec.
Nature
A blue-marked hiking trail runs through the Prielom Lesnického potoka Nature Reserve. After joining the red-marked hiking trail, it continues to the Lesnica–Szczawnica pedestrian border crossing. The blue marking indicates the route through the nature reserve, while the subsequent red section continues to the border crossing.
The Prielom Dunajca National Nature Reserve is also located within the cadastral area of Lesnica. A tourist trail runs through the Prielom Dunajca and also serves as an excursion and educational trail with 10 stations. In addition to its tourist function, the stations give the trail an explicitly educational structure.
The Prielom Lesnického potoka is an aesthetically impressive gorge. The Prielom Dunajca is a gorge formed by the Dunajec River and is of great scientific, scenic and aesthetic importance. The two gorges therefore represent distinct, clearly defined natural features of Lesnica.
Hiking Trails
Another blue-marked trail runs from Červený Kláštor via Cerla, Targov and Lesnica to the confluence of the Lesnický potok and the Dunajec.
The red-marked trail runs from the Lesnica/Szczawnica border crossing via Lesnica towards Lesnické sedlo. Lesnica is therefore connected both to a route from the border crossing to the mountain saddle and to a blue connection between Červený Kláštor and the confluence.
River and Tradition
The rafting trip from Červený Kláštor to Lesnica is 11 km long and takes approximately 1.5 hours. The distance and approximate duration describe this section as a clearly defined trip on the Dunajec.
Traditional trips on wooden rafts on the Dunajec end at the harbour near Lesnica. During the traditional rafting trip on the Dunajec to Lesnica, two qualified raftsmen in traditional Goral clothing accompany the journey. They explain the rafting tradition and the history of the Pieniny Mountains.
Culture
The Church of Saint Michael the Archangel in Lesnica is a single-nave Renaissance church of the Roman Catholic Church and was built on Gothic foundations in the first half of the 17th century. Its architectural history combines the Renaissance period with the older Gothic foundations, placing the church building within two clearly identified eras.
