Culture

In the centre of Kapušany stands the Church of St Martin, Kostol sv. Martina, which is also a national cultural monument. Nature

Kapušiansky hrad is located in the Kapušiansky hradný vrch nature reserve at an altitude of 504 m. The 18.1-hectare area contains a significant botanical site on volcanic rocks. The castle also lies within the Natura 2000 site SKUEVO322 Fintické svahy, where rare animal species of European importance and rare plant species occur.

Park and Educational Trail

The Park svätých Cyrila a Metoda features a covered park amphitheatre with seating for 1,000 visitors. The park also contains the information boards of the educational trail “Velikáni kapušianskych dejín”. The trail provides information about selected significant figures from the history of Kapušany and important places in the municipality, including the castle, church and manor house.

The information boards include ergonomic play elements such as memory games and puzzles for children and people with disabilities. The park also has an asphalt sports court with artificial lighting. It is used for basketball, tennis and football, as well as for ice skating and ice hockey in winter.

The boards focus on the municipality’s notable figures and places, while the sports court with its artificial lighting is described as suitable for several sports and winter activities. Routes and Getting There

Kapušany has good bus connections, and it is also possible to arrive by train. The green-marked route from Kapušany railway station to Kapušiansky hrad is 2.3 km long. Two routes lead to the castle: one is longer and less demanding, while the other is shorter and more challenging.
