A blue-marked hiking trail to the ruins of Turniansky Castle begins directly in Turňa Nad Bodvou. The blue-marked ascent from Turňa Nad Bodvou to the Hradná stráň saddle at an elevation of 350 m takes approximately 35 minutes.

Culture

The fortified Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built at the beginning of the 14th century in the Gothic style, probably on the foundations of an 11th-century church. Its frescoes had been painted over with white paint and were rediscovered in 1880 by the Hungarian writer Mór Jókai. As an important monument of Gothic ecclesiastical architecture, the church is a significant historic building in Turňa Nad Bodvou.

The preserved Kaštieľ manor house also stands in the village. It was built in the Renaissance style in the 17th century and has an L-shaped floor plan. The main façade features two rounded corner towers.

The Turniansky rybník pond lies northwest of Turňa Nad Bodvou. The pond is part of an internationally protected bird protection area.

Hiking

From the Hradná stráň saddle, a historic, unmarked path with preserved wagon-wheel tracks leads to Turniansky Castle. The fifth level of protection applies in the Turniansky hradný vrch National Nature Reserve; leaving marked hiking trails is prohibited.

A 5¼-hour route through the Zádielska Valley and to Turniansky Castle ends in Turňa Nad Bodvou. In addition to the short blue-marked ascent, the region therefore also offers a longer route whose destination is in the village.

The Turnianska Wine Route leads from Silická Jablonica via Hrušov, Jablonov nad Turňou, Hrhov and Dvorníky-Včeláre through Turňa Nad Bodvou to Moldava nad Bodvou.
