Liptovské Matiašovce between the Suchá Valley and the Western Tatras

The Church of Saint Ladislaus is surrounded by a Baroque fortification from the 18th century with loopholes and bastions. The church is in very good condition and serves its religious purpose.

The chapel in Vyšné Matiašovce was built on the site of an earlier wooden bell tower and served for funeral ceremonies. Since 2017, except during funerals, a Mass has been held in the chapel in Vyšné Matiašovce on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, and a shepherds' Mass at Christmas.

In the lower part of the valley, Dúpnica Cave is considered a sanctuary from the Late Hallstatt period, dating to around 500 BC. The structures and the cave open up different historical points of reference that can be followed separately when exploring the locality.
