Holiday apartment in Bacúch: Nature, educational trail and local history

The Nízke Tatry Natura 2000 site also includes the cadastral area of Bacúch. This geographical connection alone leads to a place whose named attractions combine nature, trails and local history.

Nature

The protected areas of Bacúch include the Bacúšska Jelšina state nature reserve. The mountains Čertova Svadba, Fišerka, Blato and Zadnia Hoľa are also located in the surroundings of Bacúch. Another named site is the Prameň Boženy Němcovej spring. It is a mineral spring in the forest above Bacúch at an altitude of 635 metres. On the northern edge of Bacúch, it lies along a blue-marked hiking trail leading to Bacúšske sedlo and the main ridge of the Low Tatras.

Hiking

The Bacúch–Vyšná Boca educational trail is 14 kilometres long and takes approximately five and a half hours. Along the trail, five information boards provide information about Bacúch, the Prameň Boženy Němcovej spring, the Podvrch locality, Bacúšske sedlo and Vyšná Boca. The educational trail also includes access to a former copper mine. The route therefore combines its stated length and duration with several clearly named stops and the historic mining site.

Culture and history

The Church of St Joseph in Bacúch was built in 1863 and reconstructed and extended in 1936. Its main altar, dating from 1863, features a painting by J. Jonáš depicting Bacúch and the transport of timber. The two dates represent the original construction and the later structural alteration.

Until 1953, the facility was used to store water. After it was filled, the water was released to increase the flow of the Hron for the waiting timber rafts. Thus, Bacúch also has a documented specific historical connection between water storage, the river and timber transport.

Also make sure to check which services are included and how the price components are structured. The applicable booking and cancellation conditions should likewise be clearly stated. This allows you to see before booking which features actually belong to the individual offer and which conditions apply. Such a review can be carried out directly using the specific listings, without mixing general expectations about the destination with individual offer details. When comparing individual offers, you can also check the exact address of each accommodation, which type of accommodation is offered and how many people it is listed for. Included services, individual price components and the booking and cancellation conditions stated there can also be compared before booking. The details of the specific listing are decisive: they show which services and conditions actually apply to that offer. This keeps information about the destination separate from the features of the respective offer.
