Bragadiru: Archaeological Sites, Culture and Parks

The Bragadiru – La Fosta Cărămidărie 2 archaeological site lies on the left bank of the Ciorogârla, opposite the former brickworks. The site extends to the boundary of the Măgurele municipality. Another part of the same archaeological site lies on the right bank east of Bragadiru.

Geographical location

Bragadiru – Staţia de Epurare is another archaeological site. It lies on both banks of the Sabar. East of the bridge of Șoseaua Bucureşti–Cornetu and Șoseaua Alexandrueu, this site is located in the area of the wastewater treatment plant. Bragadiru lies on the DN 6 Bucureşti–Alexandria national road.

History

There is a monument in the park in front of Bragadiru City Hall. The monument contains elements of the memorial cross for the heroes who fell in the First World War. It lists the names of the heroes from Bragadiru. These heroes fell in the 1916–1918 war.

The historical reference is linked at the site in front of City Hall with a commemorative list of names. Therefore, alongside the elements of the memorial cross, the fact that the named heroes came from Bragadiru is also part of the monument’s message. The period 1916–1918 defines the time frame of the commemoration.

Culture

Casa de Cultura Mihai Eminescu is located in Bragadiru. On 19 May 2018, the play “FROZEN, REGATUL ÎNGHEȚAT” was performed there. The performance was given by THEATER DU SOLEIL.
