Muncelu de Sus – Archaeology, Churches and Hilly Landscape
Muncelu de Sus is located in the hilly landscape of the Mogoșești-Siret municipality. The highest plateau area is situated in the centre of the settlement. At 320 metres above the Black Sea, Muncelu de Sus reaches the highest elevation in the Mogoșești-Siret municipality. The place thus combines a clearly designated elevation with a geographical centre within the settlement.

Culture and History
The Muncelu de Sus–La Groapă archaeological site is listed in Romania’s National Archaeological Register. It is located approximately 500 metres west-southwest of Muncelu de Sus; Gropi is connected with the site as a body of water. The approximate distance and compass direction provide a spatial reference for the site without specifying its location more precisely.
The school museum in Muncelu de Sus preserves archaeological objects. These include axes, daggers, scrapers and ceramics. The collection therefore comprises various types of objects that make the museum’s archaeological focus specifically recognisable.
