Discover Valea Lupului
A painted biconical vessel from the 1955 archaeological research campaign in the settlement of Comuna Valea Lupului in Iași County is attributed to the Eneolithic period and the Cucuteni B culture in the first half of the 4th millennium BC. The vessel was handmade and decorated with painted motifs. Remains of Hallstatt-period vessels were discovered in the nursery of the Iași Roads and Bridges Directorate. They are made of brick-red clay and have a black exterior; human skeletal remains were also uncovered.
The find records therefore point to different archaeological periods and different find contexts within the locality. The painted vessel represents an early prehistoric period, while the Hallstatt remains were recorded together with the skeletal finds from the area of the nursery.
Culture and history
The wooden chapel of Beldiman Parish features cross-shaped architecture in the Ștefan style. A central tower stands above the naos. The chapel is unpainted. The village centre of Valea Lupului developed on the slope where the old church stands.
Landscape
The Bahlui Plain extends across the southern part of the village and is crossed by the Bahlui River. The area is characterised by hilly terrain with narrow, V-shaped valleys and gentle slopes. These valleys include the Valea Prisecii valley. Broad plateaus such as Platoul Beldiman are also among the described landscape forms. The Valea Lupului area belongs to the Moldavian Plain. The commune's territory lies near the contact zone with the Central Moldavian Plateau.
Both the plain along the Bahlui and the named valleys and plateaus are significant for the landscape designation. This makes it possible to identify the southern river landscape, the Valea Prisecii valley and Platoul Beldiman as distinct geographical reference points within the commune.
Religious life
The Church of “Sfinții Împărați Constantin și Elena” is an active parish church in Valea Lupului. Its website publishes a service schedule for August 2026. In Valea Lupului, the Christmas concert featuring Christmas carols performed by guests invited by Beldiman Parish is also regarded as an annual tradition. The announced event is scheduled for Saturday, 13 December, at 17:00.
The church-related information thus includes both the published service schedule for August 2026 and the announced concert date, including the weekday, date and time. These time details distinguish the regular service listings from the annual concert tradition described.
