Râncăciov Monastery is located 7 km north of the old Pitești–Bucharest road. It lies east of the village of Râncăciov, in the municipality of Călinești. The monastery was first documented as a monastic institution on 19 July 1498. The monastery’s new church was founded between 10 June 1647 and 27 September 1648 by Arsenie Şoimul and his wife Ana.

The Church of “Cuvioasa Paraschiva” of the former Lacu Negru hermitage stands among hills at the edge of two lakes. In front of the church, the large and small lakes converge. The present brick Church of “Cuvioasa Paraschiva” of the former Lacu Negru hermitage was built in 1787 by Neagu and Paraschiva, following an earlier wooden construction phase. The designation “former Lacu Negru hermitage” is part of the church’s traditional name.

The Râncăciov – Dealul Olarului archaeological site is a settlement. This settlement includes phases from the Eneolithic, Bronze Age, Hallstatt period, La Tène period, and the Middle Ages, including the 14th century. Thus, the chronological sequence of the settlement phases mentioned extends from the Eneolithic through several prehistoric periods and into the Middle Ages.

Apostoli Petru şi Pavel” in Călinești has oak beams connected using the so-called dovetail system, as well as a masonry base.
