Dobrotu: Culture, History and Cycling Routes
In the village of Albeștii Pământeni in the municipality of Albeștii de Argeș stands a stone cross dating from 1694. As a historic monument, it is listed under reference AG-IV-m-A-13880 and classified as a memorial or funerary monument of national interest. This gives the site a specific structure with a clearly dated origin and a particular historical classification.
Culture and History
In the village of Florieni in the municipality of Albeștii de Argeș is the church of the former Brătășești hermitage, “Nașterea Sf. Ioan Botezătorul.” Its trefoil-shaped floor plan and polygonal apse define its architectural form. The church thus represents a second historic point of reference within the municipality and is clearly distinguished from the stone cross in Albeștii Pământeni by its floor plan alone.
The Brătășești hermitage was originally built around 1735 by Ioan Vâlsănescu. Fragments of a wall painting dating from 1795 have been preserved in the church or in connection with the hermitage. Monastic life at the Brătășești hermitage resumed on November 25, 2007. The three dates mark different phases in the history of the site: the original construction was followed by the 1795 wall painting and the resumption of monastic life in 2007. The historical connection of the hermitage therefore extends from its foundation in the 18th century into the recent past.
The geographical distribution of the cultural monuments is also specific: the stone cross stands in Albeștii Pământeni, while the church of the former Brătășești hermitage is in Florieni. Both villages belong to the municipality of Albeștii de Argeș, but each has its own historical connection. In Albeștii Pământeni, the individual stone cross is the focal point, while Florieni is associated with the church, the hermitage, and the preserved wall-painting fragments.

The approximately 7 km refers to the section running through Albeștii de Argeș.
