Discover Piaseczyński on long trails through forests and nature reserves, or by visiting historic buildings. The routes vary considerably in length and course; highlights also include Czersk Castle, the Spa Park in Konstancin-Jeziorna and Piaseczno Town Hall. When planning your holiday, you can choose how to balance nature experiences, culture and relaxation.

Hiking trails with different highlights

The 28-kilometre Szlak Południkowy through the Chojnowskie Forests starts at Piaseczno railway station. Its route passes through Zalesie Dolne, Górki Szymona, Zimne Doły, Zalesie Górne, the Łoś Nature Reserve and Nowy Prażmów, before reaching Prażmów. Its length and sequence of stops make it a full-day outing in its own right. Chojnowski Landscape Park also has seven marked hiking trails and a network of educational trails for walkers and cyclists.

Those who want to focus on several protected areas will find a choice of routes. The 30-kilometre Szlak rezerwatów przyrody connects Zalesie Górne and Zimne Doły with the Uroczysko Stephana, Chojnów, Obory, Skarpa Oborska, Olszyna Łyczyńska and Łęgi Oborskie nature reserves. It continues through Konstancin-Jeziorna to Ursynów. A shorter option is the 10-kilometre Chojnowski szlak zabytków przyrody, which runs through the Chojnów, Pilawski Grąd and Uroczysko Stephana nature reserves.

Another option is the 24.5-kilometre yellow-and-green-marked trail from Konstancin-Jeziorna to Góra Kalwaria and Czersk. It starts at the corner of Piłsudskiego and Sienkiewicza streets and passes through the Obory Nature Reserve, Słomczyn, Cieciszew and Dębówka. The three trails differ in length and in the places they pass; the route that suits your stay depends on which one you would like to explore. Important for visits to Chojnowski Landscape Park: its eleven nature reserves may only be entered via existing paths and marked hiking trails.

Woodland scenery and wildlife watching

At the Żabieniec pond complex, you may spot goosanders, black-necked grebes, red-necked grebes, little grebes, teal, bearded reedlings, penduline tits and black storks. This offers a different focus on nature than the longer routes through the protected areas: here, the variety of birds around the ponds takes centre stage. The Zimne Doły recreation complex has fire pits, covered shelters, a children's playground and a forest car park. Visitors to the nature reserves should stay on the designated paths.

Castles, local history and a spa park

The medieval Gothic castle of Czersk was built by Duke Janusz the Elder around the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries on the site of an earlier fortification. Visitors can see the Gate Tower and the South Tower, also known as the Prison Tower. The Gate Tower contains reconstructions of the castellan's chamber and the throne room. At the foot of the castle, to its east, lies Jezioro Czerskie, a former oxbow of the Vistula that is fully protected as a natural monument.

Piaseczno's Town Hall, built in the Classical style in 1823, now houses the offices of the Muzeum Piaseczna. Dom Zośki in Zalesie Dolne, now part of Piaseczno, is the Zawadzki family's wooden summer house. It is associated with the memories of Tadeusz Zawadzki, known as “Zośka”, which were used in “Kamienie na szaniec”. The two places offer different ways to explore local history.

In Konstancin-Jeziorna, the Spa Park lies at the heart of the spa district. Its main avenue connects Piłsudskiego Street with the graduation tower. The Konstancin graduation tower opened on 21 July 1978; as the brine evaporates, it creates a microclimate in the surrounding area similar to that of the seaside. The park has three playgrounds for children and young people, a volleyball court and outdoor fitness equipment. When choosing your destinations, you can weigh up forest trails, historic sights and a visit to the spa park.
