Chyliczki brings together a specific manor history and an activity on the water: the area was once farmland belonging to a folwark associated with the Chyliczki manor, and the Jeziorka kayak route passes through Chyliczki. Poniatówka adds another dimension as a building at a site with a long construction tradition and an award received in 2025. The wider Piaseczyński destination also offers marked hiking trails, historic sites and parks. This lets you tailor your choices to whether you are more interested in local history, a water route or regional variety.

Manor history and historic landmarks

Chyliczki’s agricultural past is closely linked to the manor: the area was once farmland belonging to a folwark associated with it. Another notable name in the area’s history is Poniatówka. The building was constructed in the former village of Chyliczki at a site with a long construction tradition and received an award in the 2025 “Zabytek Zadbany” competition. Visitors interested in historic buildings and local history will find a specific point of reference here, one that speaks not only to a single year of construction but also to the site’s longer building tradition.

The surrounding area also offers a historical perspective. In 1891, Cecylia Plater-Zyberkówna bought the former Chyliczki manor and founded the Agricultural Home Economics School for Girls there that same year. The history of education is therefore also among the themes associated with the former manor. Since 1902, the Chapel of Our Lady of Częstochowa has been located in the Platerówka building in Piaseczno’s town park. These historic points of interest add the history of the surrounding area to the picture of Chyliczki, without combining the sites into a single sightseeing destination.

On the water and along marked trails

The Jeziorka kayak route passes through Chyliczki, giving the area a waterside dimension alongside its manor history. The wider Piaseczyński destination also has several marked hiking trails. Their distances and named stops make it easy to compare them: the 10-kilometre Chojnowski Trail of Natural Monuments passes through the Chojnów, Pilawski Grąd and Uroczysko Stephana nature reserves. The yellow-marked, 28-kilometre Szlak Południkowy runs through the Chojnów Forests from Piaseczno railway station via Zalesie Dolne, Górki Szymona, Zimne Doły, Zalesie Górne, the Łoś nature reserve and Nowy Prażmów to Prażmów.

The 30-kilometre Szlak rezerwatów przyrody connects Zalesie Górne and Zimne Doły with the Uroczysko Stephana, Chojnów, Obory, Skarpa Oborska, Olszyna Łyczyńska and Łęgi Oborskie nature reserves, as well as with Konstancin-Jeziorna; from there, it continues to Ursynów. Another option is the yellow-and-green-marked trail from Konstancin-Jeziorna to Góra Kalwaria and Czersk. It is 24.5 kilometres long, starts at the corner of Piłsudskiego and Sienkiewicza streets, and runs via the Obory nature reserve, Słomczyn, Cieciszew and Dębówka. This offers a choice of shorter and longer routes with different named destinations, rather than just one hiking trail for the entire region.

The Chojnów Landscape Park has seven marked hiking trails, as well as a network of educational paths for pedestrians and cyclists. One important guideline applies to trips into its protected areas: the eleven nature reserves may be visited only via existing paths and marked hiking trails. Visitors interested in wildlife can spot, among other species, goosanders, black-necked grebes, red-necked grebes, little grebes, garganeys, bearded reedlings, penduline tits and black storks at the pond complex in Żabieniec.

Parks and cultural attractions in Piaseczyński

For a different focus, Zdrojowy Park lies in the centre of the spa district of Konstancin-Jeziorna. Its main avenue connects Piłsudskiego Street with the graduation tower. The park has three playgrounds for children and young people, a volleyball court and outdoor fitness equipment. The graduation tower opened on 21 July 1978; as the brine evaporates, it creates a microclimate in the surrounding area that resembles the climate on the seacoast.

Historic destinations across the wider Piaseczyński area offer their own points of interest. The medieval Gothic castle in Czersk was built by Duke Janusz the Elder around the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries on the site of an earlier fortification. Piaseczno’s town hall dates from 1823, is Neoclassical and now houses the offices of the Muzeum Piaseczna. In Zalesie Dolne, now part of Piaseczno, stands the Zawadzki family’s wooden summer house, Dom Zośki. It is associated with the memoirs of Tadeusz Zawadzki, “Zośka,” which were used in “Kamienie na szaniec.” These examples broaden the selection for anyone looking to explore architecture and literary history as well as local history.

When looking for a holiday apartment, you can start by deciding what you want your trip to focus on: would you like Chyliczki’s manor history and the Jeziorka kayak route to be the main attractions, or would you rather include hiking trails, nature areas and cultural destinations across the wider Piaseczyński destination? This helps you choose where to stay based on the experiences that interest you most.
