Brzostowa brings together a well-preserved historic rural settlement pattern, a Neo-Renaissance palace, St. Francis Church and a park with a pond and a variety of tree formations. The buildings, townscape and park appeal to different interests: you can explore Brzostowa through its settlement structure, individual architectural features or the layout of the park. They offer several specific points of reference to help you decide whether Brzostowa matches your travel interests.

Historic Townscape and Rural Structure

A historic rural settlement pattern has been preserved in Brzostowa to this day; it is clearly legible and valuable. Here, “clearly legible” means that the historic structure of the place remains recognisable as such. This means looking not only at individual buildings, but also at the overall form of the settlement. This offers a distinct perspective for understanding the place: the rural structure forms a broader context, while the palace and church each provide individual architectural accents.

Neo-Renaissance, Brick and an Old Wall

The palace stands in the western part of Brzostowa and was built in the Neo-Renaissance style. It is a residential building and is not generally open to the public. If you are considering a visit, check access arrangements in advance.

St. Francis Church is a brick building in the Neo-Gothic style and was built in 1869. Comparing the two buildings brings out the differences between the Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Gothic styles. Their materials also differ: brick characterises the church, while a stone wall dating from the 17th century surrounds the church grounds. The wall thus belongs to a significantly older period than the church, which was built in 1869.

Park with Water, Clearing and Tree Formations

The park in Brzostowa covers more than two hectares and brings together several clearly distinct features: a pond, a viewing mound, a clearing, tree-lined avenues and circular groups of trees. Water, an elevated spot and open space complement the different arrangements of trees. The linear form of the avenues can be compared with the circular arrangement of the groups; the pond and clearing, in turn, offer different impressions of space. The area gives the ensemble a sense of scale, while its individual features explain what characterises the grounds. If you are interested in designed parks, the combination of water, open space and orderly tree formations offers a specific way to explore Brzostowa’s landscape.

When choosing a destination, you can consider two clearly distinct themes: the history of the settlement and its architecture on the one hand, and park design on the other. If you are looking for a holiday rental, you can first consider which of these aspects better suits your trip. The buildings and rural structure appeal to an interest in local history; the pond, clearing and tree formations make park design a subject in its own right.
