Hiking Trails and Distinctive Rocks

More than 150 kilometres of hiking trails are signposted in the Powiat lwówecki. Three popular trails run through the Bóbr Valley Landscape Park and its buffer zone; together, they are about 100 kilometres long. This gives you a choice of hikes in different parts of the region when planning your holiday, without having to combine all the trails into a single route. One specific route leads from Lwówek Śląski to Góra Heleny: it is almost 16 kilometres long and takes about four hours to walk.

Szwajcaria Lwówecka also offers two clearly identified trail destinations: a nature trail and a path to the summit. Sandstone formations and rock cliffs up to 30 metres high define the landscape there. If you are especially interested in rocks and scenery, you can consider this place when choosing your excursions. The red cycling route around the powiat is 93 kilometres long and passes through all five of its towns. The cross-border ER-6 cycling route between Žaclerz (CZ) and Bolesławiec also passes through the Powiat lwówecki. For a shorter ride, you can choose the seven-kilometre cycling route from Lwówek Śl. to Pławna. River Landscapes, a Reservoir and Regional Culture

The Bóbr and Kwisa rivers offer attractive kayaking routes in the Powiat lwówecki. The Bóbr Valley Landscape Park is also located in the powiat. Together with its buffer zone, it covers the most interesting sections of the Bóbr Valley over a stretch of about 42 kilometres, from Jelenia Góra via Siedlęcin, Pilchowice and Wleń to Lwówek Śląski. Jezioro Pilchowickie reservoir covers about 240 hectares. It was created by the construction of a large flood-control dam between 1906 and 1912.

A distinctive cultural highlight is Lwóweckie Lato Agatowe, an international open-air fair for minerals and jewellery. The event includes demonstrations of cutting and polishing gemstones.
