The primary school in Janów already existed in 1886. The school was housed in a wooden building with a 63 m² classroom and an apartment for the teacher.

The Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Ostrówek was built between 1934 and 1938. The Parish of the Most Holy Trinity in Ostrówek includes Janów. Another historic site is a mass grave of soldiers of the Polish Army from the Second World War. The Janów Volunteer Fire Brigade in the municipality of Skrzynno and Wieluń County was entered in the register of associations and federations under number 1725 pursuant to a resolution of the voivodeship dated 30 December 1927.

Historically, an amateur theater was performed at the village school in Janów; the proceeds were used to finance musical instruments and books. At a local theater event, children from the village school in Janów performed the short play “Przed popisem,” while the village band from Janów-Wola played.

The “Mamy głos” project was implemented for all residents of Janów and Oleśnica and provided the local community of the municipality of Ostrówek with a public address system. The new public address system enables integration events, meetings, training sessions and conferences, as well as cultural and educational events.

Landscape

The eastern part of the municipality of Ostrówek lies within the Międzyrzecza Warty i Widawki Landscape Park. The varied topography, forest complexes and the valley of the Pyszna River shape the diverse landscape of the municipality of Ostrówek.

Local road No. 117401 E runs from Janów via Przerwa to the municipal boundary of Złoczew. A body of water was created along the national road through the reclamation of an extraction site.

The Konopnica–Ostrówek–Skomlin cycle route runs through the area of the municipality of Ostrówek and enables visitors to discover various sites as well as the picturesque landscape.
