Łask between mill trails, city history and the Grabia
Accommodation in Łask
Łask combines city history with trails through the Grabia Valley and summer activities by the water. There are various options to consider when planning your trip: historical exhibitions and architecture, longer routes for hikers and cyclists, and a supervised bathing area. Which holiday apartment in Łask is right for your stay therefore also depends on whether you mainly want to plan for culture, exercise or time by the water.

City history and distinctive architecture
The Collegiate Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Michael the Archangel was built in Łask between 1517 and 1523 in the late Gothic style. Its construction period and style provide a tangible link to the city's history. The Museum of the History of Łask also focuses on the city and its region: it has five exhibition rooms featuring the exhibition “From the History of the City and Region” and the permanent exhibition “The City of Las-Kolumna – Extraordinary Stories.”
The museum also has an outdoor exhibition of old agricultural tools, located in the courtyard under a covered shelter. The museum offers workshops for children and themed historical walks through the city. Families travelling with children who want to include some culture can enjoy both a museum visit and the chance to explore the city's history on a walk.
Kolumna offers a different glimpse into local history: the district is home to wooden villas with verandas, built for summer visitors in the 1930s. Many feature architecture known as Swiss style. This historic building stock differs in character from the late Gothic collegiate church and complements what visitors can see at the museum and elsewhere in the city.
Mill trails, river landscapes and outdoor activities
The yellow Mill Trail along the Grabia is 36 kilometres long and suitable for hikers and cyclists. It links surviving mill architecture with the natural scenery of the Warta and Widawka Landscape Park. The trail starts at the railway station in the Kolumna district, passes through the Grabia Valley and the centre of Łask, and ends in Siedlce Łaskie. Those planning a longer excursion can follow this route, which passes through a variety of valley, urban and mill-landscape sections.
Another option is the green “Szlak Turystyczny Okolic Pabianic” hiking trail. It is about 26 kilometres long, accessible to cyclists and connects Łask with Pabianice. The Szlak Rowerowy Ziemi Sieradzkiej cycle route covers a much greater total distance of 318 kilometres, passing through Łask and highlighting the collegiate church there. For planning purposes, both the link between Łask and Pabianice and the longer cycle route through Łask are worth considering. The Pabianice Trail ends at Łask railway station.
Water also shapes the choice of excursions: the municipal “Zajączek” outdoor swimming pool is located beside a reservoir of around 2 hectares on the Grabia and Pisia rivers. It has a supervised bathing area with a beach. Kayaks and smaller sports and leisure equipment are available for hire during the summer holidays. The Grabia Valley in the surrounding area can be explored on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or by kayak. In the associated municipality, the entire stretch of the Grabia, its tributaries Końska and Pałusznica, and the surrounding forests lie within the protected landscape area.

The “Las-Kolumna” natural and landscape complex is also within the municipality. Established in 1993 to protect the old pine forest, it covers 365 hectares. The Grabia Valley is considered the Łask municipality’s greatest natural and tourist attraction. If you are choosing a holiday apartment with a focus on nature and routes, you can consider these scenic destinations alongside the attractions in town.
Local traditions include the Rose Festival, a recurring family picnic with activities for children, food and artistic performances. The festival also includes trips to local rose fields, where the roses that have made Łask known beyond the region are grown. The Jarmark Łaski was already a place for exchanging different ideas, intellectual currents, cultures and fashions in the 15th century, and is considered the oldest local event. “Pociąg do Kolumny – Akustycznie” grew out of an initiative by residents and friends of Kolumna and has become firmly established in the region’s cultural calendar over the years.
