Mersch’s parish church is also worth a closer look. It was built between 1844 and 1850 in the late Neoclassical style. This architectural style is rare among Luxembourg’s churches. The menhir at Béisenerbierg provides another historical landmark: it is 3 metres high and weighs almost 4 tonnes. Together with Mersch Castle, which dates from the 13th century, this creates a broad spectrum of architectural and cultural history.
