Hamfelde provides access to hiking in the Hahnheide via the Hasenberg forest parking area, Stormarn’s largest nature reserve. The landscape is predominantly hilly and wooded, characterized by small valleys, streams, and depressions.

Nature

The Langer Otto lookout point in the Hahnheide offers views across the entire nature reserve. History

Local Area

On the edge of the Hahnheide in Hamfelde, the Waldeslust inn offers cyclists a place to stop on its terrace. Waldeslust has been operating in Hamfelde since 1873. The grounds include a children’s playground.

A 24-hectare animal enclosure adjoins Waldeslust. Waldeslust raises Galloway cattle, Duroc pigs, Moorschnucken sheep, ducks, chickens, and geese under species-appropriate conditions. Waldeslust also keeps trout and carp in its own spring-water and pond facilities.

In Stormarn, visitors can download GPS tracks for an extensive network of circular cycling routes.
