Culture
The former riding hall was built in 1897 and converted into an events hall in 2006; its historic substance was preserved in the process. The Marstall was built between 1845 and 1846 as part of the former estate complex in the historic village of Woldenhorn.
The Marstall cultural centre's programme includes music, theatre, literature, cabaret, exhibitions, dance, film screenings, lectures and performing arts for all age groups. The gallery in the Marstall primarily showcases contemporary art and presents up to five exhibitions per year, with a focus on artists from northern Germany.
Ahrensburg Castle is a Renaissance castle and museum. Its exhibitions cover a long history from the Renaissance to Historicism; modern elements are also represented.
Nature
In Ahrensburg's Wulfsdorf district, the Haus der Natur serves as an information and education centre for nature conservation. The park at the Haus der Natur is officially recognised as a nature experience area and features nature-oriented paths. The permanent exhibition at the Haus der Natur focuses on nature conservation, native birdlife and various habitats.
The Haus der Natur also offers hands-on activities such as pond dipping, building nesting aids for wild bees and earwigs, tracking bats and exploring the diversity of trees.
The Ahrensburg Tunnel Valley is a fully protected wetland landscape extending over approximately seven kilometres and featuring meadows, hedges, wetland biotopes and archaeological significance. Remains of the medieval Arnesvelde Castle can be found in Hagen Forest.
Water and Recreation
The Badlantic indoor swimming pool has five different pools, diving towers at heights of 1, 3 and 5 metres, and a wave pool. The Badlantic outdoor pool has sports, leisure and paddling pools as well as a large sunbathing lawn. Admission also includes two on-site saunas.
Agriculture
Gut Wulfsdorf offers the Wulfsdorf Gourmet Tour to visitors who would like to learn more about the farm. The farm produces biodynamic food; during the farm shop's opening hours, visitors can look around the farm and see its animals.
