Nature and Leisure

ErlebnisWald Trappenkamp emerged from the former Trappenkamp Wildlife Park and is now part of the Schleswig-Holstein State Forests. It features walk-through wildlife enclosures, nature experiences in the forest, a large adventure playground, as well as picnic and barbecue facilities. Free parking is available for visitors.

The forest swimming pool also offers mini golf, beach soccer, volleyball, chess, table tennis, table football, play equipment, sandpits and a children's pool.

Culture and History

The G5 Museum Bunker is one of around 100 former ammunition storage buildings belonging to the Trappenkamp ammunition arsenal. The museum bunker documents the site's transformation from military use, through the settlement of refugees, to the founding of Trappenkamp in 1956.

The museum bunker's exhibition displays objects from the Gablonz glass industry, which were manufactured in Trappenkamp until the 1950s. By arrangement, the museum bunker offers guided tours for interested visitors, groups and school classes.

A Mönchsweg sculpture at the corner of Hermannstädter Straße and Kieler Straße points pilgrims along the route. The Dukatenesel sculpture stands in front of the Sparkasse in Trappenkamp. ErlebnisSchmiede Trappenkamp is a workshop museum created by a family with 150 years of blacksmithing history.

There is a free motorhome parking area at the sports centre for up to twelve vehicles.
