History
By the end of the First World War, Kronshagen had developed from a farming village into a residential community of Kiel. This development is also reflected in the town center: Kronshagen town center is designated as a group of urban spaces of particular significance. This ensemble includes the Seemann commercial building, a residential high-rise with a shop, the former commercial building of the Agricultural Purchasing Association from 1924, and the former community center from 1910/11.

Kronshagen can be reached via the A210, A215, and B76 roads. Kronshagen railway halt was reopened in December 2014. Kiel city center is approximately 6 km from Kronshagen.
Nature
Kronshagen’s public green spaces are characterized by ornamental and fruit trees. In older parts of the town, there are large plots of land that often contain mature trees.
Eichhof Park Cemetery is a large park cemetery in Schleswig-Holstein. Around three quarters of its nearly 40-hectare area consists of green spaces. The park cemetery provides a habitat for around 80 songbird species and more than 430 woody plant species and includes historic gravestones.
Activities
The Kronshagen Gymnastics and Sports Club, founded in 1924, offers football, athletics, swimming, tennis, gymnastics, and hiking, among other activities. The sports center of Kronshagen Primary School has a sports hall, an assembly hall, gym rooms, a sports field, and a teaching swimming pool. The sports center of the comprehensive school and grammar school includes two three-court halls, an artificial turf pitch, football pitches, athletics facilities, and a beach volleyball court.
Culture
The VHS Kronshagen program includes monthly lectures at the community center from October to March. The summer program includes excursions in Schleswig-Holstein, two theater visits, and a five- or seven-day trip.
