Nature

Hasenmoor covers 80 hectares and is predominantly forested. It contains beech forests, oak-birch forests, as well as areas of alder, birch and willow carr woodland. Hasenmoor Foundation Land lies in the triangle between Felde, Achterwehr and Jägerslust. Hasenmoor is also associated with the return of the European adder, which is described as a nationally endangered reptile species.

Hiking and Cycling

The “Through Felder Gehölz” hiking route begins at Seekartenweg on Felder See. It leads through the forest and offers views of Westensee. The hiking route through the Eider Valley runs between Westensee and Ahrensee and returns via Achterwehr.

The region’s hiking trails lead to viewpoints, through nature reserves and landscape protection areas, past lakes with resting places and in the direction of the Kiel Canal. In addition, numerous hiking and cycling trails run through the surrounding area of Westensee Nature Park.

Culture and History

Felde’s coat of arms depicts Westensee, Felder See, Flemhuder See and the Eider as the municipality’s natural bodies of water. Gut Klein Nordsee has been part of Felde since 1928.

Getting Around

Felde railway station connects the town with Kiel and Rendsburg. It has bicycle parking spaces and a car park; passenger information and improved wayfinding are also available.

Bus route 765 runs hourly, coordinated with train arrivals and departures, via Westensee and Groß Vollstedt to Nortorf. It also runs via Achterwehr, Quarnbek, Ottendorf and Kronshagen to Kiel.
