Emkendorf is located in Westensee Nature Park. The Methorst nature reserve is part of the municipality. Extensive forests and bodies of water in hilly terrain characterise Emkendorf’s landscape.

The parkland adjoining the manor house includes Lake Hasensee. There is also an English landscape garden behind the manor house, which is suitable for walks.

At Emkendorfer Dörpsee there is a developed bathing area. It includes a sunbathing lawn, sanitary facilities and changing facilities, as well as a snack bar.
