Radebeul can be explored on foot along the RebkulTour: The route leads through hidden vineyards and to historic sites with beautiful views. Wine and Trails

Hoflößnitz houses the Saxon Wine Museum, which presents the history of Saxon winegrowing and the work of Radebeul’s vintners. Wine from Hoflößnitz’s organic production is served on the Hoflößnitz wine terrace.

Weinbergstraße brings together wineries, wine estates, and wine taverns offering themed tastings and vineyard tours. The Hoflößnitz Vinothek sells Hoflößnitz wines, sparkling wines, and spirits, as well as wines from around 30 other Saxon vintners. Tastings are also available.

Schloss Wackerbarth offers daily tours of its modern wine and sparkling-wine manufactory. The castle’s Radebeul vineyards include the premium steep slopes Goldener Wagen, Wackerbarthberg, and Paradies. The Baroque symmetry of the French-influenced garden complex has also been preserved.

History

Karl May lived and worked in Radebeul; this is where his Winnetou books were written. The Karl May Museum includes Villa Shatterhand, with a permanent exhibition on Karl May’s life and work.

Culture

The studio theater of Theater Radebeul presents small-scale productions, children’s theater, and experimental formats. There is a tram stop and a bus stop directly in front of the theater; the Landesbühnen Sachsen/Weintraube S-Bahn station is approximately 500 meters away.

Getting Around

The Lößnitzgrundbahn railway runs 16.6 kilometers from Radebeul via Moritzburg to Radeburg. It serves eleven stations and crosses 19 bridges. The journey can be combined with a cycling tour through the Elbland, as bicycles can be carried in the bicycle car.
