The KARRAS circular hiking trail connected with Coswig offers variants of 9 km and 17 km. It follows forest paths, streams and ponds and passes the Spitzgrundteich Coswig starting point. The Hohe Stein in Friedewald is designated as one of Coswig’s viewpoints. A hike from the Coswig district of Sörnewitz to the Boselfelsen offers views over the Elbe Valley.

By the Water

Badesee Kötitz is a natural bathing lake with an FKK beach. The facility also includes swimming pools with a 47-metre-long water slide, a water mushroom and water fountains. Kötitz Campsite is located directly next to the natural lake and the Elbe Cycle Route.

Paths and Transport

Coswig is connected to the Elbe Cycle Route and lies on the Saxon Wine Hiking Trail. Bus route 400 serves Spitzgrund, Neucoswig and Kötitz and continues to Radebeul. From Meißen, bus route 401 serves Sörnewitz, Brockwitz and Spitzgrund. Bus routes 400 and 401 form a circular service between Spitzgrund and Coswig railway station.

Culinary Delights

There are four wineries in Coswig. Aronia berries are cultivated on around 40 hectares in the districts of Kötitz and Brockwitz. Visitors can reach the aronia plantations by bicycle via the Elbe Cycle Route and sample aronia products at the information wagon.

During guided tours of the Folprecht blue-print workshop, carved printing blocks featuring traditional folk patterns are shown. The Old Church in Coswig was consecrated in 1497 and is considered one of the most beautiful village churches in Saxony. It contains a Renaissance organ described as the oldest organ in Saxony. The Karrasburg Museum has a permanent exhibition about Coswig and its districts covering archaeology, everyday life and church history. Chamber concerts and theatre evenings are held at Villa Teresa.
