Groitzsch showcases its history in striking buildings, museum spaces, and the preserved traces of Wiprechtsburg Castle. Hiking Trail 3 runs along the eastern bank of the Schwennigke through deciduous forest and meadows; benches along the trail provide places to rest. The trail also passes through the Pfarrholz, where a park-like landscape that has been preserved almost in its original form extends for approximately 5 kilometers. Southeast of Groitzsch lies the Schnauderaue, a protected landscape area that has been preserved almost in its original form. The nearby village church in Hohendorf is described as restored and is also mentioned as a venue for cultural events in addition to church services.
