The Ceramic Museum presents more than five centuries of ceramic history across approximately 2,500 square metres and four exhibition levels. It also features special exhibitions and solo exhibitions by renowned ceramicists from around the world. History
Grenzau Castle stands in the Grenzau district of Höhr-Grenzhausen, with its distinctive triangular keep situated above the district.
A moderately difficult circular hiking trail begins in the Grenzau district of Höhr-Grenzhausen and follows the Brexbach valley and forest paths. It crosses the tracks of a former railway line, passes the Steinebrück Viaduct and reaches a reconstructed Roman tower. The circuit can be reached by bus to Höhr-Grenzhausen and then on foot to Grenzau.
Outdoor Activities
The Köppel Route is an approximately 26-kilometre cycling route that starts in Höhr-Grenzhausen. It is described as being around 15 minutes by bicycle from Grenzau railway station. Montabaur railway station is also described as being approximately 15 minutes from the route.
Geographical Setting
The Westerwald Kannenbäckerstraße includes the Westerwald Ceramic Museum in Höhr-Grenzhausen and two 12-kilometre circular routes focusing on clay mining in the southern Westerwald.
