Geiselberg lies at an altitude of about 420 metres above sea level in the Holzland region, on the western side of the Palatinate Forest Nature Park. Local visitor highlights include historic wash fountains at the edge of the forest, the Panoramaweg scenic route, the Hirschalbtal valley and the Grauhansenfelsen rock formation. Großer Westrich is located near Geiselberg. In the vicinity of Geiselberg are Nanstein Castle, Kemmetterberg, Gräfenstein Castle Ruins, Ringelsberg, Hoher Heltersberg and Kippkopf. The Falkenburg Castle Ruins are located in the wider regional surroundings of Geiselberg.
Culture
Historically, the local economy was more dependent on forestry than on agriculture because the soils were not very fertile. In the nearby forest, red sandstone was quarried for house construction at the beginning of the 20th century. The village church of Geiselberg was built from red sandstone in the 1950s.
