Culture

The Drachenfels ruins stand on two steep, narrow sandstone rocks and overlook the hills of the Palatinate Forest/Northern Vosges Biosphere Reserve. A rock chamber, a gatehouse, and the remains of a flanking tower have been preserved; the ruins also feature rock chambers, towers, and heavily fortified shield walls. Drachenfels Castle was destroyed by citizens of Strasbourg in 1335.

The Catholic parish church in Busenberg was built between 1760 and 1767 from stones taken from the destroyed Drachenfels Castle. The Schlösschen is a manor house in the village center that was built in 1778 with stones from the Drachenfels.
